The Common Room welcomes children and under 18s when accompanied by a supervising adult until 8pm. Speak to a staff member about which food items are available for smaller appetites.

The Common Room serves 10 draught lines; a wide selection of worldwide lagers such as Pravha, Coors and Madri, to some locally brewed and small batch crafts, pales and IPA’s from the likes of True North, Thornbridge and Abbeydale Brewery. We also have Aspall Cyder on draught, as well as up to 4 ale hand-pulls.

If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please speak to a member of the team before placing your order. Full allergen information is available upon request. Food is prepared in an area where other allergens are present and our menu descriptions do not list all ingredients. Fish and poultry products may contain small bones.  

Our main food menu has options available for special dietary requirements.

We also have a substantial amount of vegan options where every dish is made purely with plant-based ingredients.

Dishes are marked clearly with the following: V Vegetarian, VO Vegetarian Option Available, VG Vegan, VGO Vegan Option Available.

The venue has a casual dress code in place. However, at certain times, such as weekend evenings, we advise a smart/casual approach and door staff do retain the right to prohibit entry based on attire. If you have any questions about dress code then we advise calling ahead and checking with the Duty Manager to avoid any disappointment on arrival 0114 280 8221

Yes. There is a lift located next to the main stairs for wheelchair access up to our main bar, dining area, accessible toilet and baby changing facilities. We also have a second lift that will take you up to the pool hall.

We have our own student Rewards card called Pledge. Get our Pledge card online or at the bar for a one-off fee of £4 and redeem a host of fantastic offers.

Members of the Pledge Student Card receive 20% off all day, every day, in five venues. Participating venues also include The Old Grindstone, The Punch Bowl and Forum Kitchen + Bar.

We also host Pledge Mondays at The Common Room. Alongside the 20% discount, we also offer 2-4-1 on all drinks from 5pm! It’s definitely worth the £4 sign up!  

In addition to the exclusive offers, your Pledge student card doubles up as a True North Reward Card allowing you to collect points in any of our True North Venues. You will receive 3% of everything you spend back onto your card, plus lots of exclusive offers throughout the year.

Yes. The Common Room gladly offers a 20% discount to key workers, NHS staff, and anyone in the emergency services with a Blue Light Card.

We do not have any on-site parking at The Common Room. There are plenty of car parks on nearby streets. Please visit Sheffield City Council’s website for more information. 

Yes. You can use our Wi-Fi for free. Ask a member of staff.  

Yes. We have over 50 TVs showing up to 3 different channels. Sport is a serious business here!

The Common Room shows all of the biggest sporting fixtures. We have both Sky Sports and BT Sports packages and can show multiple events at the same time. Including; football, rugby, boxing, cricket, F1, tennis, golf, darts, NFL, snooker, wrestling and Horse racing.  

If there’s a sporting event you want to watch which isn’t on our list, don’t hesitate to ask and we’ll endeavor to put it on a screen near you.

Yes. You can book a table at The Common Room here.  

For the die–hard fans wanting the best seats in the house, watch sport package is perfect option for your visit too.

At £15 per person for our standard package, you can get reserved seats, table service throughout the event, food and drink! That means no waiting at the bar so you can catch all the sporting action.

You can book your watch sport package with us by clicking on your chosen event on the Sports Fixtures Calendar.

Yes, if the games are televised on either Sky or BT. However, booking is strongly advised. Book with us here.

We have 11 full-size American pool tables and we re-cloth our pool tables every 4 to 6 months so your balls will always run true. 

We offer a walk-in service and our pool tables are charged at a variable rate, starting from £9 per hour.

Monday – Thursday (before 5pm)
£9 per hour

Sunday – Thursday (after 5pm)
£11 per hour

Saturday – Sunday (before 5pm)
£11 per hour

Friday – Saturday (after 5pm)
£13 per hour

PLEASE NOTE: Terms and conditions apply. We require you to leave a bank card as a security deposit, we charge your card at the end when you return the balls. Pool time is charged by the minute at the above average rate per hour. Minimum charge is £3. A DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD IS THE ONLY FORM OF DEPOSIT WE CAN ACCEPT.

We have several areas available for hire at The Common Room including our VIP area and private pool tables – perfect for birthdays, work parties or any other gathering.

When you make a purchase in one of our venues please hand over your Reward Card for your server to scan. If you do not have your card on you at the time you can add your points using the code on your receipt. To do this, go to your online reward account, click ‘Redeem Code’ and enter the code as it appears on the bottom of the receipt.

Yes. You can redeem the True North Brew Co gift card in venues operated by True North Brew Co. Gift cards can be used to purchase goods and services in venue.
